It's called “Know Where You Stand” and it's a very interesting portrayal of our history. Fantastic work of American photographer Seth Taras who recovered the original film clips and photographs from the period of World War II and has revived them topical.
I don't know about you but I love History Channel, I love the history and the photography. The photography that tells something, showing people and places and facts that I can't see with my eyes, in many cases for personal reasons. Even though as a teenager I visited the Normady in a summer holiday at the historic landing sites, pictures, and especially the video, you see below me excited.
The campaign Know Where You Stand, made in 2004 on behalf of History Channel by Seth Taras in collaboration with the agency Ground Zero and consists of photographs and television commercials in which the original black-and-white overlap modern scenes of everyday life.
The objective of this campaign required by network is to raise awareness of the, let us understand the history directly touching our daily. The places where we were, where we work, where we were sweethearts, time ago, are places where someone has walked, loved, is dead. The photos I took in Paris at the Eiffel Tower is the same one that has immortalized the day of entrance Hiltler in the French capital.
Incredible, don't you think?
