It'se hipster means being old. Or rather, it means you have retrieved, as often happens in the fashion world, a trend or a movement already exists and have it updated and shaped according to the today taste. In 1940s hipsters existed, they were white middle class boys and passionate of bebop, described and celebrated by several large American literati as a phenomenon of counterculture.
Today hipster love the indie rock, the committed cinema, the alternative blogs and submerged literature. Are the alternative 2000. But they are also, especially, an fashion phenomenon with their handlebar mustaches, retro style and snap fixed bikes. As the street fashion and not the graphic design has its inflections and follows the trends of the moment.
