Watercolors are fantastic, I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. Learn to use them well is anything but simple. For starters are very difficult to change then you will make a mistake when will notice and it will be difficult to mask. At that point, better to redo it all over again. In addition to fantastic technique you have to learn a fundamental virtues: patience. Today I present to you the urban watercolors by Grzegorz Wróbel.
This Polish artist has a technique that rivals a sailed Illustrator, is accurate, attentive to and colour-matched with a singular Photo eye. No wonder he has started using watercolors at the age of 12 years.
“During my studies at the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, I learnt a lot about watercolors. Although the faculty of Architecture at this university has a strong tradition in drawings and watercolors, but most of my skills are gained from my own study and personal interest in this medium, and from friends who also work with watercolors.”
I am particularly fascinated by the stark contrast between watercolor, so unpredictable and fragile, with modern architecture, so boxy and rigid, clean lines requiring perfection and precision. In this way you can well note that the illustrations of modern architecture by Grzegorz Wróbel are absolutely perfect.
