Legend has it that the Mexican artist and illustrator Gabriel Pacheco has started his career in the world of illustration when his sister asked him to illustrate a story for her. Since then finds its way and creates fantastic illustrations that capture at a glance.
This is what you read in almost all articles on the web about him. Actually this is not a legend, but a true fact and Pacheco tells him in an interview of 2011 to the italian collegue Morena Forza in an article that I recommend reading.
Gabriel Pacheco born in Mexico City in 1973, He studied stage design at the National Academy of fine arts and then specializes illustrating numerous books for children, but also poems and fantastic stories.
His blog is filled with fantastic illustrations accompanied by poems, quotes and personal reflections. What you notice almost immediately when watching his illustrations is that are real and dreamlike visions, linked to the dream, not only for how developed the characters but even more for the setting, the choice and combination of ’ colors and the textures.
Its vibrant red and blue, as pure energy, capture the attention and focus on character or on a certain emotion that the artist wants to convey. However, many of his illustrations are large display cleverly combined with grayscale textures, with the result to make the atmosphere even more loaded with meaning, the illustration almost comes alive and contorts the idea that a layman has gray color.
