This romantic animation short was shown in theaters before the film Wreck-It Ralph and received oscar nomimation for best short animation. I don't know what I like most about Paperman perhaps the style, the setting or maybe the fact that completely lacks the dialogues. Paperman is a short film made in the USA, whose work duration 14 months, directed by John Kahrs and produced by Disney, set in the Manhattan of the year 40. The protagonists are Meg, George and a pile of airplane-style practices accomplices of romantic and fantastic meeting.
The innovation, for this short is the introduction to a technique called “final line advection” that blends the classical animation techniques, ie hand-drawn, with the most advanced computer graphics. This technique involves the use of Meander a software (vector-based drawing) specially developed for the merger of two animation techniques, According to the new Director John Kahrs, This software allows artists to manipulate the lines after having drawn and move between different levels allowing artist to see directly the animation that comes to life without using external programs. This allows a greater control on character animation and mainly to maintain intact the stretch by illustrator, just as if he had drawn the character on paper with pencil or paint brushes.
