Imagine having guests for dinner and did not know where to put them. You don't have enough chairs and don't know who to ask to borrow. Sure, if we want to be picky, the spontaneous question is why have you invited people at home if they don't have seats? If I'm being honest, a similar situation has happened to me too, but I unlike South Korean designers of Monocomplex Studio I got away with a timely purchase of emergency folding chairs. But, put it this way, If you can't buy the solution maybe you can sculpt it yourself.
The Monocomplex Studio, four designers from different personalities, has an interesting philosophy because it points to simplicity. Monocomplex is simple and complex at the same time, the complexity grows in the search for the perfect fusion between different tastes and trends of the designers. The demonstration is the sculpture Reborn Cardboard Sofa that suggests an alternative approach to accommodate guests and at the same time teaches intelligent recycling of discarded materials like paperboard for packaging.
The sofa is made with 127 packaging cartons glued together and cut with a power saw in the most convenient form for the perfect seat. The result is a handmade product that can be used on several occasions, housewives but also formal, because is a useful product, artistic and ecological, I guess who owns a garden in summer, how many of these recycled chairs can achieve. If you want to try the experiment, here below the video that tells the transformation from rubbish to durable and creative sofa. Good vision!
